The goal of this program is to provide the information and resources needed to implement diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevention and management services within the community pharmacy setting.

Target Audience

This knowledge-based course is intended for Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians. 

Learning Objectives

1.Review the current guideline recommendations for:
a. Diabetes Prevention
b. Diabetes Management
c. Primary Prevention of ASCVD
d. Secondary Prevention of ASCVD
2.Discuss the medications used for the treatment and prevention of diabetes and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD)
3.Outline the current opportunities for billing for diabetes and ASCVD-related services in the community pharmacy setting
4.Illustrate opportunities for integration of diabetes and CVD prevention and management services into the community pharmacy workflow
5.Prepare to provide point-of-care testing in the community pharmacy setting
